It is with great sadness that we report that we have recently received the sad news that one of our Ladies Race Winners 1978 Ros Evans has passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Dear Secretary,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I would like to share the news that Ros Evans passed away early this morning , Saturday August 31st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ros was an erstwhile member of Lochaber AC and competed in (and won) many Ben Nevis races. She was also deeply involved in getting a women’s Ben Nevis race accepted by a reluctant organising committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As this year’s race is next Saturday, I would particularly ask if it would be possible to make an announcement of her death on race day for the benefit of friends and acquaintances who may be otherwise unaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
